This morning I needed a bit more OOMPH than normal to get me going. So I threw a bunch of energy-packed nutritious foods in my blender with some espresso and whipped this one up. With 260mg of caffeine, it’s not for the faint of heart. But it certainly jolted me into blogging about it! Added bonus: this smoothie contains 35% of your daily recommended iron intake!
- 4 shots fresh espresso (I used Level Ground Organic Colombia Dark Roast in our espresso maker)
- 1/2 cup Whole chocolate milk (I used Avalon Chocolate Milk)
- 1/2 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk (I used Almond Breeze)
- 1 tsp. unpasteurized honey (I used Babe’s Clover Honey)
- 1/2 banana
- 1 scoop Vega One Natural
Mix until smooth. If desired, add ice to chill.
To reduce fat intake or create a vegan version, use Chocolate Almond Milk instead.
