TOUGH WEEK

Some weeks are harder than others. Some weeks I feel like I am swimming with the current, other weeks, it’s all I can do to tread water and not drown.

This week was one of those tough weeks.

As much as I love racing and the adrenaline that it produces, I am learning that it also sucks out all my mental energy, and an hour long easy bike ride the following week feels like an eternity.

I am learning to listen to my body. And this week was one of those weeks where all my body wanted to do was sleep 12 hours a night. Sleeping is good. Unfortunately between sleeping 12 hours a night and working full time, training falls apart.

I am learning to focus on the big races, and not worry about the small ones in between. But sometimes my learning is slow.
