MAY 31 – TRAINING UPDATE

27 days and counting.

The past 8 months have been an incredible journey, and I am so grateful to everyone who has joined me. Thank you for your support! Without you, I wouldn’t be here.

Heading into the “Taper” period I am feeling strong. This weekend, I was able to polish off a strong lake swim (5km), a strong bike (117km) and my best run in months (10km in 50 mins). The plantar fasciitis in foot is healing, and my body feels ready to face this challenge of an 8.5 hour race in Sweden.

Whether or not I race the Victoria 70.3 Ironman on June 14 is still up in the air. While it would be great to get the confidence of another race under my belt, it would take a huge toll on my body 2 weeks before Worlds. This will be a last minute decision, based on how training goes over the next couple of weeks. Ultimately – the World Championships needs to be my focus.

Yesterday, I was humbled by a very generous donation from a family friend. She told me that she was moved to support me after being inspired by this journey. I hope that I can continue to inspire others to make healthy choices in their lives – to choose to live each day with passion and fire.

I pause today in gratitude for the journey, and the people that I am lucky to travel with. No matter what happens, I am blessed.
